This video shows how to mix an organic fertilizer using these simple ingredients:
- 1/4 cup fish emulsion
- 1/4 cup liquid seaweed
- Splash of white vinegar
- 1 tbsp molasses (optional; neutralizes the odor of fish emulsion for indoor spraying)
- 1 gallon of water
This homemade fertilizer can protect plants from pests, cold damage, heat stress and introduce lots of beneficial nutrients into the soil. Since it is organic, you can use it without harming or burning your plants.
As always, be careful when spraying even organic fertilizers because these can be harmful to all insects, beneficial or not. You want to maintain the number of beneficial insects in your organic garden to help your plants thrive.
